Daily 5 Posters

Click on the image to download these posters. Thanks to the fabulous Deanna Jump for the font and inspiration to create these posters. I have also incorporated the clipart from Tammy's Blog so I am calling these posters a mash-up of great ideas.
I am thinking about putting these posters up along with the corresponding anchor chart so the students will have a picture icon to go with each. Another idea is to have the students' names on clothespins so they can clip their name on the daily 5 station of their choice. This is a bit difficult for me because I have 4 Daily 5 sessions in a day and the students are not allowed to go to the same one twice in a day. I would love to hear how you guys let your kiddos choose their daily 5 stations!

  1. Judy,

I just found your blog and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these posters. Would you be willing to shrink these down to fit like 8-10 on a page. I would use these for my kids to make their choices. I actually only do 3 rounds a day. I use the small target pocket charts and the kids make their choices there each morning. They have a card for each of the choices behind their name. They then choose the three they want to do that day and then put them in order. Does that make sense? I used didn't cards last year but these are SO MUCH cuter!
    Thanks!

  2. Yes! I have a training tomorrow but will try to shrink them down later in the afternoon for you. I'm glad you like the posters!
How did you monitor their choice if there was a limit for the number if students in a station?

  3. Judy, you can go into your print options and print them smaller. Say if you want them printed at 25% or 50%...you can do that with anything that you print.

  4. Tammy,
Thanks for the suggestion! I went ahead and made them smaller so that it will take up less pages for her to print.

    Cassie,
Thank you for the great idea! I just blogged about it here and if it's still too big for those pocket charts, Tammy said that you can print them out at a smaller percentage. Hope that helps!

  5. For Daily 5 we use this check off sheet before each session. It takes just a few minutes at the beginning, but as the kids get used to it, it really only takes about a minute. That way you have a quick record of what kids are doing, and you can make sure they are doing different dailies. Check out this post for your copy! Thanks for the great signs! I like the idea of adding them to the anchor charts!

  7. Hi Judy! I bookmarked these posters a while back, but I'm just now getting around to printing them for the new school year. I have your "mulitcultural" mini Daily 5 choice cards, but I was wondering if you could possibly make "multicultural" full sized posters to match them, too? My email is ashleyharris31@gmail.com. I would GREATLY appreciate it, as your posters are ADORABLE! Thank you in advance!

  10. How did you make the border for the posters? Is it something that you had to purchase or something on Word? I am going to use these super cute posters as my Daily 5 choice board so the kids can take their closepin and pin it on their choice for the day. However, I want a space where I can pin the closepins at the end of the day so I can use this to take attendance as well. So I was going to try to make a 6th poster with something like "Absent" or something cute that either suggests they haven't made their choice yet or aren't at school that day. But I want all 6 to match, so I wanted to know how to create the border so that part matches too! Any help would be appreciated! These are absolutely amazing!

  11. @Erica - great idea! Someone else asked about the border from a different post. It's a border from Microsoft Web and this post will explain a little more (towards the bottom)

  14. I love your posters! I found where another teacher had made posters using students of differenty ethnicities for word work and read to self. I teach in an urban school and would like to have the posters to be more fitting to all of my students. Is there anyway you can make them?
